Business Meeting, Membership Meeting and Educational Event

MSHFM Board and members present:

Business Meeting:

  • Business Meeting – Dan Boeckman called the meeting to order at 8:30AM
  • Treasurers Report – Total Fund Balance $11,334.32
  • ASHE Group Award Criteria - It was stated by Mike Bock that the chapter had met all the criteria for the “Gold” level award from ASHE and paper work will be submitted.
  • Web Site – The board discussed improvements to the MSHFM web site and voted to eliminate the chat room and include an events page for the Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado Chapters.
  • BYLAWS – The Board discussed the current bylaws and made suggestions on revisions for 2008.
  • Membership – The Board discussed membership demographics, needs, and development.
  • Board and Educational Meetings – The Board discussed the meeting schedule for 2007 and provided a list of educational presentations to be discussed at the membership meeting. The Board was informed that the golf outing for August 6th in process, the past event was a huge success. The other meeting dates are as follows:
    1. May 4, 2007 – St. Johns St. Louis Missouri - Business Meeting at 8:00 AM, EDU presentations at 9:00AM – Lessons Learned St. Louis Power Outage 2006 and Acoustic Engineering – Lunch provided 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM and building tour of St. Johns to follow.
    2. August 6, 2007 – Golf Outing Columbia Missouri – EDU Presentation TB
    3. November 8, 2007 – Tan-Tar-A – Osage Beach, Missouri – MHA Convention and Trade Show – MSHFM EDU Presentation TBD
  • Nomination for Regional Leader: The board nominated Doug Ruble for the ASHE Regional Leader award but was informed that he had been a member of ASHE for six years which was a disqualifier. The board rescinded the nomination and then voted on the nomination from the floor for Dan Eyerly, which was approved. Submission of the documentation for the award is due to ASHE by March 1, 2007.
  • Membership Meeting – Dan Boeckman provided the membership with a handout listing proposed educational events for 2007 and asked the group to vote on their preferences. The board would reconvene after the educational session to tabulate the choices and being planning for the membership requested educational events.

Educational Session 10:00AM:

  • Dan Boeckman addressed the attendees thanking them for their participation and sponsorship.
  • Dan Boeckman introduced the educational session speakers from Terracon Consulting Engineers & Scientists; Eric H. Lidholm, P.E. –Principal, Eric J. Gorman, CHMM, PG – Environmental Due Diligence Manager, Gary A. Ganson, CIH, CSP – Health & Safety Group Manager. The presentation subject matter “Due Diligence in Property Acquisition and Redevelopment”.
  • Dan Boeckman invited the membership to enjoy the lunch provided by MSHFM at the conclusion of the educational session.

Meeting Adjournment – Dan Boeckman adjourned the meeting at 1pm.
