Weldon Evans distributed several handouts regarding
Federal Register banning roller latches in health care March 13.
Treasure report shows a total capital of $8,393.86.
Weldon offered education program for consideration
at the Tan-Tar-A convention. A price will be obtained from Clemson
University for Environmental Service Supervision. Pursuing a speaker
regarding construction and management for the afternoon session.
Open discussion on “Smallpox (How are you handling
vaccinations?) March 31st deadline”. Everyone has identified
staff for screening and will proceed with phasing vaccinations.
Biohazard chemical: Discussed shut down of air handling
units and lock down of facility. Some have systems in process for
these items. Everyone should perform a facility assessment to determine
level of needs.
Weldon announced Donna Sprinkle and Mike Bock have
received complimentary registration to the ASHE in July.
MSHFM has received the 2002
Levels of Affiliation Program-Gold Award.

Morning speaker, Larry Knight presented “Fisher
Safety”. Fisher offers on-line training for security. Discussed
disaster preparedness, Environment of Care, and facility maintenance
management. National Disaster Medical Systems (NDMS) has $4.3 billion
budget 2003, $500 million for hospitals. Site for funding application
is www.ojp.usdoj.gov. No
charge for training when products purchased through Fisher Safety.
